Financial barriers shouldn’t stand in the way of a great education. High school graduates in the 51ÁÔÆæ district who meet program eligibility requirements can now attend 51ÁÔÆæ tuition-free.

51ÁÔÆæ believes a good education leads to a prosperous future, not just for the student who receives it, but also for the family and community of that student. This philosophy is shared by a North Iowa couple whose generosity made this privately-funded scholarship possible.
Getting Started
By March 1, 2026
- Complete the 51ÁÔÆæ Admissions application
- File the (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
- Complete the
After all of these steps are complete, the Financial Aid Office will determine your eligibility for the Promise scholarship and many other 51ÁÔÆæ scholarships available for incoming high school seniors from the 51ÁÔÆæ area.
Eligibility Criteria for New Graduates *
- Graduate in May 2026 from a 51ÁÔÆæ district high school or homeschool with established residency within the 51ÁÔÆæ service area
- Have an official SAI (Student Aid Index) of $25,000 or lower as determined by the 51ÁÔÆæ Financial Aid Office
- Enroll at 51ÁÔÆæ as a full-time (12 or more semester hours) student working toward an approved degree the fall following high school graduation

- Graduated in May 2025 from a 51ÁÔÆæ district high school or homeschool with established residency within the 51ÁÔÆæ service area
- Attended 51ÁÔÆæ as a full-time student in 2025-2026 with a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA and met Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress guidelines
- Return to 51ÁÔÆæ for sophomore year as a full-time (12 or more semester hours) student working toward an approved degree
- Have an official SAI (Student Aid Index) of $25,000 or lower as determined by the 51ÁÔÆæ Financial Aid Office
How It Works
The 51ÁÔÆæ Promise Scholarship is a last dollar award; it will cover the remaining balance of your tuition and mandatory fees after all other grants & scholarships are applied (federal, state, outside and other 51ÁÔÆæ aid). If other grant or scholarship aid cover the cost of your tuition and fees, student’s will receive a minimum of $250 per semester.
What does this cover?
This scholarship will cover the tuition and mandatory fees charged to all 51ÁÔÆæ students.
Students may receive this scholarship for a maximum of 4 semesters if they maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA, full-time student status, meet Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress guidelines, and complete 4 volunteer hours of community service each semester at 51ÁÔÆæ.
