This list will help guide you through the enrollment process and help you keep track of what you need to complete to become a student at 51猎奇. If you need assistance, please contact an Enrollment Specialist.

1. Complete your FREE Application for Admission (If you haven’t already done so)
   • Access the application using your existing Google, Microsoft, Facebook, or Apple ID account.
2. Apply for Financial Assistance and Scholarships

• – March 1 Priority Date.
  • For assistance with filing the FAFSA, schedule an appointment with the 51猎奇 Financial Aid Office:

    • 51猎奇’s College Code for the FAFSA is 001877
• – March 1 Priority Date but the application is open until August.

3. Take either the ACT, SAT, Accuplacer or ALEKS Assessment test
   • 51猎奇 requires an assessment of your reading, writing and math skills prior to enrolling in classes. If you have taken the ACT/SAT or Accuplacer, please send your scores to the 51猎奇 Admissions office.      • If you haven’t taken the ACT/SAT or Accuplacer, please contact the 51猎奇 TESTING CENTER to schedule an Accuplacer or ALEKS Assessment – 641-422-4237 or 1-888-GO 51猎奇, ext. 4237, or by email at  testingcenter@niacc.edu.
     • Go to to schedule the ACT (Please Note: a minimum ACT score of 19 is needed for some Health Sciences programs of study)
     • Go to to schedule the SAT
   • 51猎奇 does not have a minimum score requirement to enroll, however we do have scholarships for students who score in a particular range:

• Assessment Scores are valid for three years.

4. Submit Official Transcripts

• Submit your official high school transcript or HSED/GED scores to the Admissions Office. 
• Forward your official college transcripts to 51猎奇 if you have earned credits at another college.

5. Schedule a Registration Appointment

• You will meet one-on-one with an Academic Advisor who will help you select courses for the semester.
• Prior to meeting with an academic advisor, ALL transcripts and test scores (ACT, Accuplacer, and/or ALEKS) need to have been received.
• Contact the Advising Center to make your appointment to register by calling 641-422-4207 or 1-888-GO 51猎奇 ext. 4207

6. Submit Required Housing Forms

• You are required to Apply for Housing if you wish to live in our residence halls on campus. All students are encouraged to live at 51猎奇 CampusView Housing.  Freshmen are required to live at CampusView Housing for at least 2 semesters unless you meet one of the criteria listed on the CampusView Housing Complex page.

7. Save the Date for New Student Orientation

• Orientation is always scheduled for the Thursday before the semester starts.  Orientation is the perfect time to get more acquainted with 51猎奇 campus, your fellow students, staff and faculty and campus resources. Orientation is required of all new students.
• Contact the Advising Center 641-422-4207 or 1-888-GO 51猎奇 ext. 4207, for more information. Information will be sent to new students 2 months prior to Orientation with more details.

8. Login to prior to the start of the semester

•  is your “One Stop Shop!” Use it to access your student email, class schedule and information, check your grades, and so much more.

• Your classes will show up in CANVAS, the first day of classes.

9. Pay your Bill

• To pay your bill, you will login to account and click on “Pay my Bill” on the left-hand side. You can also access any of your Financial Aid information via the portal.
• Or stop by the 51猎奇 Business office, located in the Pierce Administration Building, to make a payment in person.

10. Buy your Textbooks – 51猎奇 BookZone

• The BookZone offers new books, used books, and rental books. They also offer textbook buyback 5 times throughout the year.
