51ÁÔÆæ to Offer Adult English as a Second Language Class in Belmond
51ÁÔÆæ (51ÁÔÆæ) will offer an English as a Second Language (ESL) class for adults beginning February 23 at the Belmond-Klemme High School.
The ESL class will meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. from February 23 through May 14 at the Belmond-Klemme High School, located at 411 10th Avenue in Belmond. The session begins with an orientation and student intake.
This free class is designed for adults age 18 and older whose first language is not English. Students will work to improve their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in a supportive and welcoming learning environment. In addition to language development, participants will learn about U.S. culture, government, and the responsibilities and benefits of citizenship.
The goal of 51ÁÔÆæ’s ESL program is to help students build the skills they need to transition into high school equivalency completion, college education or workforce training, and employment or career advancement.
