Some North Iowa kids interrupted their regular summer routine of sleeping in late, video game battles and endless grazing last week.    Day-campers got their minds (and bodies) moving while attending Mind Mania on the 51ÁÔÆæ campus.

Dyan Childress, 51ÁÔÆæ’s Community Education & Lifelong Learning Coordinator, was breaking off sprigs of green grapes to a waiting line of 48 eager children who attended the event.  “Mind Mania is a kids camp that offers a variety of different things to help explore their imagination,”  explained Childress, who organized the week’s activities.

Students participated in an acting camp, played music, worked on science projects and sampled foods from around the world.   They even held a bake sale and toured the McNider Art Museum in Mason City.

“The week went great!,” added Childress after seeing the last kids get picked up on Thursday afternoon, “The kids had a lot of fun, learned many cool things and did some fun projects.”
